Zovo Timeline
Turn dated events into a clean timeline you can print or share.
Zovo Timeline turns a list of dated events into a timeline chart. Events are placed to scale by their day count, or at even gaps if you prefer. Labels are staggered into rows so they do not overlap. Spans such as wars or reigns are drawn as bars, and eras as shaded bands. BC dates are supported, and the chart notes that 1 BC is followed by AD 1. You get an SVG image, a PDF for Letter or A4 paper, and a CSV of the events with their positions.
What it does
- To-scale placement by day count in the proleptic Gregorian calendar, or even spacing
- Years, months or full dates, approximate dates (c. 1500) and BC years
- Spans drawn as bars and eras drawn as shaded bands
- Labels staggered into rows so they do not overlap, with an overlap count in each result
- Horizontal or vertical layout; categories with colors and a filter in the chart
- SVG, PDF (Letter or A4) and CSV downloads

“Make a timeline of the space race: Sputnik 1957-10-04, Gagarin 1961-04-12, Moon landing 1969-07-20”
“Timeline of Roman history from 753 BC to AD 476 with the Republic and Empire as eras”
“Vertical timeline of my project milestones for 2026”
Limitations
- Up to 200 events and 20 eras per timeline
- Dates are proleptic Gregorian; Julian calendar dates are not converted
- Slashed dates such as 03/04/2025 are refused unless you say whether the month or the day comes first
- The PDF prints Latin, Greek and Cyrillic letters; other scripts and emoji show as ? in the PDF only
- Large timelines are stored for 1 hour as files to download, then deleted
